If you have a food-loving friend or family member, you’re so lucky! The lists of gifts go on and on, from thousands of cookbooks to an endless supply of kitchen gadgets that will suit every budget, big or small.
I Love Food
I love food and I really do love a good foodie gift, that’s why I feel I’m more than qualified to give advice on this topic. So don’t panic, I’m going to share with you some of my favourite kitchen gadgets, food, utensils and books that I personally couldn’t live without.
Kitchen Gadgets and Utensils
Speed Peeler. This is probably the cheapest and most essential piece of kit on this list. I definitely couldn’t live without mine! You don’t have to spend a lot when it comes to these and this one is perfect for the job. A bargain at only £1.99
Mandolin Slicers are a fantastic addition to any kitchen. This will save you loads of time when it comes to thinly slicing and julienning vegetables to perfection. Please be super careful when using this and make sure to use the safety guard! This will cost you £29.79 but will serve you well for years to come.
I don’t know any cook that wouldn’t love this! A Microplane has so many uses from zesting citrus fruit to mincing ginger and garlic or finely grating parmesan over your favourite Italian pasta. I honestly couldn’t recommend this enough. You can get this Microplane for £22.86
This is one for all those sourdough and bread bakers out there. A bread lame is used for scoring and slashing the bread dough right before it goes in the oven. It is essential to use an extremely sharp blade. this one should do the trick at £7.99
Small Kitchen Appliances
KitchenAid Mixers are loved by foodies all over the world, so it is no surprise it had made this list. I use mine almost daily to make bread dough and cake batter amongst many other things and it is still going strong 6 years on! Pricey at £399 but in my opinion so worth it. I’ve definitely got my monies worth!
The NUTRiBULLET is another favourite of mine. I use this to make pesto, hummus, salad dressings, milkshakes, smoothies for blending soups and the list goes on. At £39.99 this is a solid piece of kit for every food lover.
This hand blender is perfect for blending up your favourite soups and sauces and with the extra attachments that come with this, you can chop up vegetables and whisk as well. This is a good all-rounder that doesn’t take up too much space in the kitchen. Only £24
